MAN DROWNED AT KEIGHLEY.
FOUGHT IN THE SOUTH AFRICAN WAR.
Shortly before nine o’clock this morning, the body of William Patrick Rouse (38), labourer, 16, York Street, Worth Village, was taken out of the River Worth, Keighley, near to his home. It appears that Rouse, who fought in the recent war in South Africa, had not worked for five weeks, and became low-spirited, seeking to drown his cares in drink. Last night, while he was sitting in the house with his wife and mother, he suddenly went out. He was not seen again, and his body was recovered from the river to-day, by John Merrick, labourer, Daisy Street, Keighley.
