Biography

Sarah was born in 1793.

Sarah Rouse married William Coldicutt on 13 February 1826. William may have been her second husband, with her first husband, Richard, dying in 1825. after 10 years of marriage. Widowed at the age of 31, Sarah would have been young enough to think of remarrying and having a new family. [1] [2]. However reviewing the page for Birmingham Marriages and Banns, this shows Sarah Rouse to have been a spinster. Further research would be required to establish Sarah's previous relationships and connections, and eliminate false facts.

The couple emigrated to New Zealand in 1842. Sarah, her husband and five children, sailed on board the Osprey in 1842, under the command of Captain Sedgwick.

Sarah Coldicutt passed away on 29 September 1851, after being in New Zealand nine years, and is interred at St Andrew's (Anglican) Church cemetery in Epsom.
