Biography

Who is Elizabeth Jane Rouseau? The answer is in Thomas Sherrod's 1756 marriage record and his will probated in 1818. The will names his wife as Elizabeth and the marriage record only has the name "Rouseau". Thus comes the name Elizabeth Rouseau. But where does the middle name, "Jane" originate? This is a mystery as to date no record shows Jane, however. most Ancestry family trees only show Jane Rouseau and the wife of Thomas Sherrod. I did discover one tree which used the name ELizabeth Jane Rouseau but that tree had other trees and the marriage record as it only sources.^[1][2]

Not much is known about Elizabeth other than she is the wife of Thomas Sherrod who was born during 1730 in North Carolina. Their marriage was during 1756.^[1] Many of their children/grandchildren are listed in the will of Thomas. Their children were:^[2]
