Jean Marie Roussel was born and baptized on 26 Jan 1759 in Notre-Dame-de-Liesse parish of Rivière-Ouelle, Canada, Nouvelle-France. His parents were Jacques Roussel and Geneviève Bérubé. Godparents at the infant's baptism were Jean Morest and Cécile Hémon. The officiating priest was Chevalier.[1]

Marriage
Jean Roussel married Marie Catherine Ouellet, daughter of the late Joseph François Ouellet and the late Marie Françoise Sirois, on 20 Nov 1780 in Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière, Province of Québec. In the presence of known witnesses Jean Dibge, Jacques Roussel, François Lévesque, and Germain Lévesque.[2]

Death and Burial
Jean Roussel dit Davia, husband of Catherine Ouellet, passed away on 16 Nov 1812 being given the age of around 54 years on the record. His burial was the 18th in Notre-Dame-de-Liesse parish cemetery of Rivière-Ouelle, Bas-Canada.[3]
