Biography

Isaac (le Roux) Roux has French origins.
Place clarification [1]:
Blois, Loir-et-Cher, Centre, France [1]
Cour-Cheverny, Loir-et-Cher, Centre, France [1]
Pommegorge, Mer, Loir-et-Cher, Centre, France [1]
Pommegorge, the family farm since 1530, was sold on 29 Mei 1687. [1]
Assumed to be born in the province of Orléanais, France, per this information: Isaac le Roux was not born at Pommegorge, since he inherited the manor after his first wife's death, in 1635. There was a lawsuit involving his first wife's children, after her death[2]
Tree of Gabriel le Roux and nephew Jean le Roux [1]:
Jehan le Roux (1565-1602) married Marie Dutens (1570-1594) and had two sons: (a) Estienne le Roux (1588-?) + (b) Jean le Roux (1593-1668) [1]
(a) Estienne le Roux (1588) had son Isaac le Roux (1615-1687) who married Jeanne Bourdon (1634-15 April 1672). Isaac and Jeanne had a son Jean le Roux (1666-1711) - Born on 16 November 1666 on farm Pommegorge in Mer, Loir-et-Cher, Centre, France (It has been mentioned that he was christened on the same day as Gabriel). [1]
(b) Jean le Roux (1593) and Jeanne Chauffourt (1600-1672) had a son Pierre le Roux (1632-1682) who married Anne Bourdon (1639-1672). Pierre le Roux (1632) and Anne had a son Gabriel (Born: 25 July 1667 in Cour-Cheverney, Loir-et-Cher, Centre, France. Christened in Blois, Loir-et-Cher, Centre, France 28 July 1669). [1]
Gabriel’s parents moved to Pommegorge in 1672 where he grows up with Jean le Roux, his nephew. Jean and his nephew Gabriel were very close and often referred to each other as brothers. They left Pommegorge, Mer, Loir-et-Cher, Centre, France on 4 November 1686 and escaped to Delft, Netherlands. On 31 December 1687 they left on the ship Voorschooten [3] to the Cape. [1]

Leroux or le Roux? Profile has been de-ppp'd so that the [email address removed] can decide which. I would suggest after validation re-protection in because of all the duplicates on the internet.

" Should be: (a) Estienne le Roux (1588) had son Isaac le Roux (1615-1687) who married Jeanne Bourdon (1634-15 April 1672).
