From that notice: +7.10.1898 at age 64 year, 9 months, i.e. * 1.1824, widower of Helena Maria Smuts, who must then be a second (or third?) wife. The 8th child listed is Magdalena Petronella.
Edit: Nope, not him. His marriage to Helena Smuts lists him as a 20 year old bachelor at the time.
