Biography

Clarence and his wife Grace owned and operated a citrus grove adjacent to two of his brothers in St. Lucie County beginning in or around 1954. He and his wife Grace resided there until his death around the year 1972. He enjoyed fishing at the South Bridge in Ft. Pierce. He owned approximate 28.86 acres on Citrus Avenue in White City, Florida on which his primary residence stood until 1990 when it was moved to a location 300 - 400 yards away on a 6 acre plot they also owned. Both tracts are on the Indian River. Their home was place on the the National Historic Registry that year. The home was a winter home built by a Captain Hammond of New England. (around 1903).
