Welcome to my profile, visitor.
I've always been interested in family history, and have done a bit here and there over the years, but recently it's become much more of a passion. And since the deaths of my parents it's become a way of connecting with, and honouring the past. It's like I'm doing my bit to keep the memory of all these people alive - even if it's only a few facts, if I've put them onto a profile, placed them into a family context, at least those people have not completely disappeared into oblivion. And it's amazing how one can get the feel of a person just from a few facts about them. In fact, sometimes I forget I never actually met most of the people I research!
On Wikitree I love crafting beautiful profiles. It's an ongoing project, since I'm learning so much on my journey here that I can always find a lot that can be improved on profiles I've worked on a while back. At the moment I'm working my way through my watch list to improve the profiles where I can.
My Projects and Teams:
I studied English and European Literature at Warwick University, with Latin as my foreign language component. Thirty-odd years later I did an MA in Creative Writing with Lancaster University. Writing is what I do, one way or another.
I'm married to the lovely David, have three lovely grown-up children, and one lovely little granddaughter.
Full length publications: Candling the Eggs, Cinnamon Press, 2011. Other stuff - poems and short stories - in magazines. Winner of the Guernsey Literary Festival Open Poetry Competition, with poems displayed at the airport and on the buses throughout 2017.
To aid WikiTree in the administration of my account should I be incapacitated, or in the event of my death, I hereby give permission for all private profiles I'm managing to be transferred to any of my family members for whom I am a profile manager at the time of my death, whether or not they are on the Trusted Lists at that time. If there are no family members willing to take over, these profiles should be deleted. Any other profiles I leave in the care of the Wikitree community.

Someone else unlinked Richard as the father of Mary (Trethewey) Trudgian if you click on the changes tab it tells you. I am going to message that person and see why they unlinked them.
Thank you for messaging, and for spotting that.

We realise the time has come to dissolve the UK Project in favour of the individual country projects of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
We are checking in with all UK badge holders to find out which country project(s) you would like to be in so you can collaborate with other members, have the opportunity to select which team(s) you would like to join, and so we can ensure you have all the correct badges.
Please respond by PM to let us know which country project(s) you would like to be in. Please don’t assume we know. We are effectively starting from scratch to make sure no one falls through the cracks.
Once you have done this, the Coordinator for Membership in the relevant country project(s) will be in touch to help get you situated.
