From World Connect: For some time Mary Bloemker, has been looking for evidence of the Henry Rowe (aka H B Rowe) in her family being linked with the family of John and Esther Rowe. This search has been long and exhaustive when Mary enlisted the help of a professional researcher. Here is Mary's comments below - "The researcher says that, in her opinion, it appears as though we're dealing with three different Henry Rows in the same period and geographical area. There's the Henry Row who married Magdalena Shutt, the Henry Row who married Maggie Sindorf and the Henry Row who was the son of John & Esther Row. She believes that, from the material she's collected for me, the Henry Row who married Maggie Sindorf came from Pittsburgh and was not related to the Westmoreland Rows at all (or at most was related at a distance). She also firmly believes now that my H.B. Row is the son of John & Esther Rowe." Note that up until now researchers have listed the wife of the Henry Rowe in question as Maggie E Sindorf. Mary continues with the results of her research to disprove this ... "My researcher came up with the source of the Row/Sindorf marriage information for me, and it's my firm belief that the precise wording (that is to say, referring to Henry as 'Henry Rowe of Pittsburg' and Maggie as 'Maggie Sindorf of Westmoreland Co.') means that that particular Henry was an out-of-towner. In addition, if this Henry was the son of John & Esther, he would have been 39 years old at the time, and Maggie would have been 23. My Henry was the Henry who never left Armstrong Co. and he lived a census page or two away from Joseph Rupert and Catherine Row, too. Previous Row researchers have spent much time convinced that the family stayed in Westmoreland County. I believe, probably because Isaac and Hezekiah stayed behind in Westmoreland when the family did make the move to Armstrong Co. But both Sarah Ann and Catherine Row married Rupert boys (of the Armstrong Co. Rupert clan), and Priscilla married an Armstrong Co. Smith, all in Armstrong Co. and they lived in Armstrong Co. all their lives, so why not believe the same of brother Henry?" Given the findings of Mary's research I have updated my tree with the above. - December 2001.
