Biography

Jean was born in 1910. She was the daughter of William Rowe and Linda Haliday. Her middle name harked back to her paternal grandmother whose maiden name was Elizabeth Grimmond

Jean married Ernest James Hamilton Clarke (Jerry) in 1931. Her husband was a plumber when they married and they lived in Papakura. He later became a Health Inspector and they lived in Pukekohe.

She passed away in 2002, having lived to the age of 91. Jean Clarke was buried in Papakura Cemetery with her grandparents James and Margaret Haliday.
