Carolyn, I find we are 14th cousins once removed. Just wondered what the connection was so checked it out. How do you relate to Moab Hale? Always glad to find another cousin. Lula Tuttle Sinnott

Carolyn, I've been working on the Bullock family and looking for the father of Lacy D Bullock (Bullock-4371). I don't think he is the son of Benjamin Bullock (Bullock-670). Looking at the birth dates of the other children of Benjamin, seems unlikely. And other references do not list Lacy as a son of Benjamin. (my wife was a Bullock, is my interest in the family)

John you may certainly be correct. You can remove if you'd like. Those Bullocks are almost as bad as my Whites. most are named the same and had to find birthdates. Thanks

Hi Carolyn, I was cleaning up suggestions as part of the Data Doctors project. I worked on a few profiles you manage, with the same issue. The syntax for the ref tag is:

<ref>Source citation</ref>

Most HTML-like tags have that syntax, where the closing tag is the same as the opening tag except it starts with the backslash character. You should be able to see all of the information you entered now that those <ref> tags have been closed with </ref>, or removed if empty.

Also, each profile should have a sources section immediately followed by the references tag, then any sourced used but not cited inline, like: Sources <references/>

  • Source I got from FamilySearch

I hope this helps going forward, you've got good information in those profiles!

You may have been hard at work adding family members and getting connected to those that are already here. You probably have at least a few profiles that you manage now. So, this week we're going to look at how to work with your Watchlist: How to Manage Your Watchlist.

As always, your questions are welcome!

Welcome to WIkiTree. I noticed some of the Porterfields you added via the gedcom import already exist. Usually, the gedcom importer picks these things up. I have submitted some merge requests for the ones I noticed (My grandmother is a Porterfield and that is one the surnames on my watch list.). Let me know if you have any questions.
