Frederick Charles Rowell was born July 27, 1878 at Reedbeds (Lockleys), South Australia, Australia. He was the only surviving son of James Rowell and Elizabeth Marchant.[1]
Charles served in the South Australian [Citizen] Bushmen during the Boer War as a Trooper.[2]
He served again in the Australian Imperial Force during the First World War; enlisted 6th December 1915, returned to Australia 12th May 1918.[3] He was a member of the 5th Australian Field Artillery Brigade.[4]
He married Annie Clara Snow in 1902 in Adelaide.[5] The couple lived in and near Adelaide, South Australia, and had at least 7 children, listed above.
Charles Rowell passed away on October 3, 1955 at Flinders, South Australia.[6] Both Charles and Annie (Snow) Rowell are buried in the Light Oval plot at the West Terrace Cemetery, Adelaide City, Adelaide, South Australia, Australia. [7]
