Biography

Joseph Roy was born on 6 Apr 1775 and was baptized three days later in Saint-Joseph parish in Beauce. He was the son of Joseph Roy and Marie Louïse Dupuis dite Gilbert of this parish. Sponsors at the infant Joseph's baptism were his uncle Jean Baptiste Roy and his aunt Angelique Dupuit [sic]; neither sponsor signed the register.
