Simon was born on January 18, 1836, and baptized on August 21, as recorded in the Bouctouche Catholic church register.[1][2] Godparents were Athanase Bastarache and Elizabeth Blanc. The priest used Blanc, instead of LeBlanc, as the last name of the mother and the godmother. He is the son of Joseph Roy and Pélagie LeBlanc. Simon and Olive were married in 1856. [2] He passed away in 1912 at the age of 76. [3]
