Research Notes
Some suggest this person is named William Owen Royal, probably because he possesses land in Duplin County patented to Owen Royal in 1767. What they overlook is a deed from Owen Royal to William granting him this land in 1773.[2]
There is no evidence supporting a name of William Owen Royal for this person and ample evidence of there being two such people to refute any such assertion.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with William by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with William:
Royal-115 and Royal-107 appear to represent the same person because: Hello,
While both of these profiles are a bit of a mess now, they certainly represent the same person. It's better to have one mess than two. I'll do what I can to clean it up as well.
