Genealogies of Virginia Families, Volume V, R-Z, under The Colonial Royalls Of Virginia, Chapter IV, page 285, shows John Royal, Sr. b. 23 Oct 1729. He is the one who died 12 Jan 1810, and is the correct father for Sarah Royal.
