It is believed that Thomas Jordan Ruark was born about 1767, probably in Worcester County, Maryland. He is thought to be the son of Ezekiel Ruark and Rachel Esham. Jordan died in Lewis County, Kentucky about 1 July 1852.
Jordan married first Catherine Maddox, probably about 1790-1795 in Worcester County, Maryland. [1] In 1800, while living at the Boquetenorton Hundred, they had 3 daughters and 1 son,[2] and it is believed that these were their children:
Millie Ruark was born about 1795 in Maryland.
Nancy Ruark was born about 1796 in Maryland.
Zorabable "Bable" Ruark was born about 1798 in Maryland.
Mary Polly Ruark was born about 1801 in Maryland.
At some point before 1810, he moved to Kentucky, and was living in Fleming County, Kentucky in 1810. By 1820, Jordan was living in Lewis County, Kentucky, where he lived the remainder of his life. [3]
Jordan married second Annie Pollitt on 15 Aug 1832 in Lewis County, Kentucky. [4] Annie was born about 1797 in Maryland. Annie's maiden name is unknown, and it is believed that she was married to David Pollitt prior to her marriage to Jordan Rourke. [5]Their children were: [6]
Lucinda (Pollett) Ruark (Carrington) was born about 1824 in Kentucky.
