William Matison Ruble, married Augusta Ruble on June 15, 1909 He left her for Sarah Bowden in 1927, moving from Hotchkiss, CO. to Hiawatha, Utah where they married. They had three childern William, Robert, and Gwen Ellen. Sarah died May 17, 1934 in Price, Utah,From bronchial complications. William then sent for Sarah's sister, Myrtle Cousens, from Montana. Myrtle took Gwen Ellen with her. Eventially, Myrtle sent Gwen Ellen to Canada to live with her Aunt Gwen Irving in Canada. It would be over 40 years later before she was reunited with her two brothers in Delta, CO. In 1942 William came down with cancer in his nostrils. He then went to the Mayo Clinic in Boston. He sent the two boys to live with a family named Branch, in Price Utah, for the next year and a half. In the mean time the Docs in Boston told him they could do nothing for him, so he went to a faith healer in Moab, Utah In late 1943 his daughter from his first marriage Mabel Widner found him and brought him to Redlands Mesa, CO. At that time she did not know there were two boys in Price. The Branch's contacted the sheriff's office when they did not hear from William for awhile and they tracked him down to Redlands Mesa. Upon questioning from his daughter he admitted he did indeed have two more sons, and asked her to bring the boys to Colorado which she did. Mable and William's first wife Auguste cared for him until his death on May 12 1944. After that time Mabel and her husband Chester (Pop) Widner raaised the boys until they graduated from High School in Hotchkiss
