Biography

Sarah Elizabeth Rucker was born in Anderson County, Tennessee on 15 Jul 1856. She was the fifth child of Austin L. Rucker (ABT 1814) and Mary Harriett Green (05 Aug 1831). She had four brothers (William Daniel Rucker (AUG 1845), Burrell Austin Rucker (25 Dec 1850), Richard Preston Rucker (12 May 1859), George Washington Rucker (04 Mar 1862)) and three sisters (Mary Ann Rucker (19 Apr 1852), Eliza Isabel Rucker (15 Jan 1856), Rachel Rucker (1859)).

When she was 5 years old, her father Austin L. Rucker died (16 Apr 1862). When she was 35 years old, her mother Mary Harriett Green died (15 Sep 1891).

On 22 Jul 1888, she married James Preston Beeler (07 May 1860) in Union County, Tennessee. On 29 Jul 1872, she married John Pierce (15 Mar 1847) in Union County, Tennessee. She was 32 years old when she married James Preston Beeler, who was 28 years old at that time. She was 16 years old when she married John Pierce, who was 25 years old at that time. She had one son with James Preston Beeler: Francis Marion Beeler (NOV 1893). She had two children with John Pierce: Mary F. Pierce (ABT 1874), Ida V. Pierce (ABT 1877).

In 1936, she died in Anderson County, Tennessee when she was 79 years old. Her husband James Preston Beeler died on 08 Mar 1934, 2 years before her. Her husband John Pierce died on 29 Feb 1936.
