On 9 January 1817, “Catherine Link (widow & relict of Jacob Link Decd late of the County) represents that her said Husband died intestate about two years ago [circa 1815] seized & possessed of two tracts of land in said County one of about 400 or 500 acres which is unimproved, the other containing about 420 acres on which your petitioner now lives.” She petitions for dower out of the 420 acres and relinquishes all claim to the other tract.
In June 1817, Jacob Link’s realty was divided among his eight heirs, who were his daughter and sons:
