Jim [John] Daniel, the son of Michael and Jeremiah [Zeruah] Pugh [Rugh], was born December 8, 1857, in Scotland county, Mo., and died May 3, 1935, at his home near Douglas at the age of 78 years, __ months, and 25 days.

In 1882 he was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Drummond. In 1894 they moved to Oklahoma where he has since lived.

Mr. Pugh united with the Christian Union church at Douglas in 1918.

He leaves to mourn his loss, seven children, Harry Pugh of Hutchinson, Kan.; Carl Pugh of Eden, Ida.; Frank Pugh of Modesto, Calif.; Will Pugh of Orlando; Mrs. W.E. Polwort of Enid; Mrs. Herman Rogers of Waukomis and Sybil of the home. Also eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren besides a host of relatives and friends. His wife [d 1922] and infant son preceded him in death.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. T.G. Davis of Enid Sunday afternoon at 2:30 and he was laid to rest in the local cemetery.

He was a loving father, a good neighbor, and his thoughts were for the good of his children. He kept his home for the past 14 years since his wife died, for them to come and enjoy.

He will be greatly missed by those who learned to love him. Everything possible was done to prolong his life and alleviate his suffering, but to no avail.
