Biography

Pilar was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, in 1887, her mother was Chona Mendoza. She married Alfredo Gessenius in about 1904 in Mexico, and they had four children. She immigrated to California in about 1905. She married Ernest Rowland in 1934, in California. She died in Los Angeles, in 1954, at the age of 80.
