Biography

OBITUARY: Our beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and dear friend, MARGARET NAJERA, lifelong resident of Las Cruces passed away, early morning on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at her home surrounded by all her loving family, at the age of 74. She was born September 21, 1947 to Manuel and Margarita Estorga Ruiz. Margaret worked in the medical field as a licensed CNA until her retirement. Her pride and joy, was her family and was always lending a helping hand with love, care and joy in her heart.

On December 9, 1968, Margaret, married the love of her life, Ernesto Najera Sr., and together the raised two beautiful children; son Ernest Najera Jr., and wife, Debra of Rio Rancho and daughter Angela A. Diaz and husband Carlos of Las Cruces; five brothers, Raymond Ruiz, John Ruiz (Cindy), Jose H. Ruiz, Manuel Ruiz and Ricky Ruiz; four sisters, Rosanna Randolph, Chole Ruiz, Fabiola Rought (Larry) and Petrita Ruiz. Other survivors include four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Mauricio, Henry, Albert, Francisco and Daniel Ruiz; two sisters, Bernadette Garcia and Francis Ruiz.

Visitation for Mrs. Najera will begin at 10 AM Monday, June 20, 2022 at Baca’s Funeral Chapel 300 E. Boutz Road with the Funeral Service at 11 AM. At her request cremation will take place and Inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date.

The Najera Family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Baca’s Funeral Chapel of Las Cruces and Sunset Crematory, 527-2222.
