Biography

High Bridge, N.Y. was the birth place of the only daughter of Edgar and Fan. She always enjoyed her four brothers and thought every girl ought have several brothers. She was born May 24, 1904 and when twenty one years of age married Richard Flanagan. He at one time was manager of The Fair Store in Chicago and the family lived in Evanston. They had met in Rochester, N. Y.and were married on December 24, 1925. Four children came to the couple.

1. Richard Junior was born on October 10, 1926. He lived just short of his forty-fifth birthday and died unmarried.

2. Frances was the second child. She married Peter T. Owre and they are the parents of Sam; Jean; and Dan.

3. Edgar Flanagan was the 3rd child. In 1958 he married Majorie Sue Woodward, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Woodward of Carmel, Calif.

4. Elsa was the fourth child. With Gustavo Carion she had two sons. He was working for A.I.D.(Agency for International Development) in Viet Nam when Emma Louise and I met her in 1964 at her mother's in Cheraw, S.C. He was soon to move to Formosa where the family was to go. Elsa later became a lawyer practicing in New York City.

Elsa moved to Cheraw where for a time she operated a stationary store. Since then, for many years, she has lived in New York City

She is buried with husband Richard & son Richard in Holy Cross cemetary, Malden, MA. Plot is St. John street, grave 51.
