Biography

Maria Lydia was born in 1888. Lydia D. Runge (age 12) was living with Gottleib J.Runge and his wife Amelia C., their two sons, Julius G. and William A., and another daughter Julia A. in 1900.[1][2]

She married Frederick Tryon 28 April 1909 in Meriden, Connecticut.[3]

"Weddings of Meriden People Today
This afternoon at 5 o'clock will occur the wedding of Frederick Henry Tryon, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert C. Tryon and Miss Lydia Dorothea Runge, daughter of Mrs. Emilie Runge, at the home of the bride's mother, 238 Elm street.
Only the immediate families of the bridal couple will attend the ceremony which will be performed by Rev. Robert A. Ashworth.
&nbps;   The house has been artistically decorated with potted plants and cut flowers the floral features being simple but effective. A buffet lunch will be served.
The bride will be unattended. She will wear a costume of white silk and will carry a bouquet of sweet peas. Her going away gown is a modish tailor made suit of tan cloth with which she will wear a black picture hat.
The groom's gift to his bride is a handsome gold watch. The honeymoon will be spent at Washington, D. C., and Norfolk, Va. In the very near future they will go tohousekeeping at 210 Elm street.
The groom is identified with his father in the grocery business and is active in several fraternal organizations. He is a member of the First M. E. church, being president of the Altruistic chapter of the Epworth league.
The bride is a member of the First Baptist church where she is actively identified with the various societies. The many friends of the young couple will extend hearty felicitations."[4] She and Frederick lived in Meriden, CT. He was a grocery clerk and she did not work. It appears that they lived with his parents and a servant. They had no children yet.[5]

In 1917-1918 Frederick registered for the draft and listed Mrs. Frederick Tryon as his next of kin, probably Lydia. They both lived at 210 Elm St. in Meriden.[6] Lydia and Frederick were still married in 1920.[7]

Their divorce would have been before Oct 4, 1923 as that is the date Frederick remarried.[8] Lydia married Albert Lohmann 20 September 1924 in Meriden, Connecticut.[9]

LOHMANN-TRYON
Mrs. Lydia Dorothea Tryon, daughter of Mrs. Emilie Runge, of 917 Broad street, was united in marriage to Albert Carl Lohmann, son of George H. Lohmann, of 41 New Hanover avenue, Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock at St. Paul's parsonage by Rev. Dr. R. Irving Watkins.
The couple was attended by Mr. and Mrs. Francis A. Clark, of New Britain. They will make their home at 220 Broad street.[10]

She passed away in about age 73 on 22 December 1961 in Meriden, Connecticut.[11] She was married at the time of her death to Albert Lohmann.[11]
