Biography

Sweden
Anna (Runnander) Ahnell lived in Sweden.

Anna Viktoria Runnander was born on August 11, 1880, in Rone, Gotland, Sweden, the daughter of Jacob Runnander.[1]

Anna Victoria was born in Autsarve, Rone parish, Gotland on August 11, 1880 and was christened on August 19. She was the first child of Petter Herman Runnander (age 43) and his wife Anna Kath. Maria Jacobsdotter (age 41) who had been married for 3 years. Witnesses; Barnmorskan Mamsell Andersson, Lars Fredin(?) med hustru i Hägdarve, Jacob Jacobssons hustru i Hägdarve samt hans son Jacob, Joh. Thomasson i Gullgårde. [2] (Barnmorska=midwife, hustru=wife)

The household examination book at the time of Anna Victorias birth shows the marriage date of her parents, 1877-01-13. It also states that her father had been married before, she had at least two half siblings; Karl Albin born 1870 and Laura Hermanna Josefina, born 1875. [3]

On the same page, we also find her grandparents (her fathers parents). They are listed as Jonas Petter Runnander, born in Rone 1812-08-28 and Eva Charlotta Sundberg, born in Rone 1814-08-16 (this needs to be verified by birth notice of course).

She married, firstly, Johan Petter Valgren.[4]

She married Johan Valfrid Vahlgren (born 1860-02-01) in Rone parish on June 1, 1903. [5]

She married, secondly, Jakob Oskar Herman Ahnell.[6] They married 1914-12-12 in Källunge parish.

She emigrated from her home in Källunge parish to North America 1916-11-17.[7]

According to the records at emiweb.se she left together with the children;

  • Eva Linnea Ahnell, born 1906-11-17 in Barlingbo, Gotland

  • Astrid Maria Valgren, born 1907-02-16 in Visby Gotland

(Eva Linnea and Nils Harry Sten would be her husbands children from his first marriage, Astrid Maria is her daughter from her own first marriage and Herman Sune is the son of her second marriage.)

Her husband, Jacob Oskar Herman Ahnell, had already emigrated in May 1916, together with his three oldest children;

  • Charles Herman Gustaf, born 1898-10-23 in Visby Domkyrkoförsamling, Gotland
