Biography

Sarah Sally Runyon McCoy was the wife of WikiTree Notable William "Billy" McCoy. Sarah was an attractive, strong and determined mountain woman who traveled with her husband to Buchanan County, Missouri, USA, near the town of Halls. Sarah Runyon was born on September 14, 1827 in Pike, Kentucky, United States, daughter of Joseph Adron Runyon (1801–1859) and Nancy Jane Maynard (1810–1883).

Sally (15) married William McCoy (20) (born on December 27, 1822 in Pike County, Kentucky; son of Daniel Effort McCoy and Margaret (Taylor) McCoy) on April 6, 1843 in Pike.[1] [2] [3]

Sally died on December 30, 1909 in Halls, Buchanan, aged 82. She was buried in Kerlin Cemetery, Halls, Buchanan County, Missouri.[10] [11] [12] [13]

    In the name of God Amen I ADRON RUNYON of the County of Pike and State of Kentucky being sick and weak in Body but sound mind and disposing Memory for which I thank God and calling to mind the uncertainty of human life and being desirous of disposing of all such worldly Estate as is hath pleased god to bless me with

    1st I desire that all the perishable parts of my Estate be sold after my decease Only the part I give to my wife and out of the moneys arising therefrom all my fresh debts & funeral Expenses be paid –

    2ndly after the payment of my debts & Funeral Expenses – I give my WIFE one third part of my estate both real & Personal during the time of her natural life –

    3rdly I give to my DAUGHTER SALLY all the land from the conditional Line between me and Thomas Hunt on the side of the creek she now lives on down the creek on the same Side to the lower End of the field the house stands in thence running up the Hill to two white Oak Corner Trees on the top of the point about square with the lower End of the sd field the house stands in thence running up the point to Include all the land I have on the Sand Lick Branch & all I have in the Madison Survey in said Boundary Mentioned & no more –

    4thly I give to my SON MITCHELL RUNYON all the land I have deeded to him It being his portion of my Estate which the deed names above the same with the conditions of the lines in the deed and Boundarys so as to Include the land in the deed is being understood when I made the deed it was his Share of my Estate

    5thly I give my SON ASA H RUNYON all the land from the conditional line I made between him and Mitchell Runyon up to the head of the fork Asa now lives on taking both Sides of sd fork

    6thly I give my SON JOHN C RUNYON the land he now lives on from the Conditional line between him and Mitchell Runyon running up both Sides of the creek up to the line between him & L T Lowe then up the Grants Branch to include all the land I have on said Branch

    7thly I give my SON THOMAS W RUNYON the land Beginning at the mouth of Pegs Branch thence running up with the line of the fence on the unfenced side of s'd Branch to the crop fences at the lower End of the lower meadow thence running up the Point Betwixt Pegs Branch & what we call Billys Grant to the top of the Ridge then running down the ridge with the lines betwixt me & Thomas Hunt to the main Creek then down the creek to the mouth of Pegs Branch then he is to have the use of Timber if he needs it on the opposite side of the creek from the mouth of Pegs Branch to keep up his fence on the side next to the creek –

    8thly I give my SON WM ANDERSON the land beginning at Thomas line at the lower End of the lower Meadow then running with Thomas lines up the Point named in his line then crossing Pegs Branch at the upper corner of the field below Pegs branch then running up the point between what we call the Big Hill field & Pegs Branch to the top of the Ridge then running up both sides of Pegs Branch to include all the land on Pegs Branch and over next to Counts Branch running with my line to the conditional line between me and Andrew Varney running with our Lines –

    9thly I give to my SON ADRON RUNYON the land from the upper End of the long field at the Branch of the creek running with the fence at the upper End of S'd field to the top of the Ridge then running the Ridge to the head of the Meeting House Branch to a Large Sugar Tree corner then down the meeting house Branch on both sides to the main creek a small distance below the Orchard to two Sugartrees corner of the Madison Survey Then from the Sugartree Square up the hill to the Back line then from the Two Sugartrees up the creek on the same Side with the meanders of the creek to the upper End of the long field so as to include all lands in that Boundary & Orchard & Buildings

    10thly I give to my SON MOSES RUNYON all the land from the upper End of the long field on the same side of the creek up to Sally McCoys line at the lower End of the field her house stands in running with her lines to the top of the Ridge down the same side to the upper End of the long field then Beginning at the mouth of Pegs Branch on the opposite side & croping of the creek then running up Pegs Branch with the fence on the lower side of sd Branch then running up the Point with Wm Andersons line to the top of the Ridge then running down the Ridge so as to come down the ridge so as to come down the point at the upper side of the Meadow Hollow at the mouth of the drain –

    11thly I give my SON ORRISON RUNYON all the land from Moses line on that side of the creek to the Lowes End of my land on that side then Beginning at Adrons line on the Two Sugar trees then up the hill to the Back line then down the creek on that side to the lower end of my land –

    12thly I desire that out of the money arising from my Estate that my Executors pay AMANDA LOWE my daughter Ninety four dollars & Seventy Two cents which will make her Two hundred dollars with what I paid towards her land Then VICEY Two Hundred dollars if the money arising – and I desire that if there is no more money in my Estate that my Executors rent out Thomas Part until they make Two hundred dollars for POLLY my daughter & also to rent out Wm Andersons Part to help make the amount mentioned and also that they make ELIZABETH my daughter Two Hundred dollars and & also that at the time Orrison comes of age the five youngest Boys Pay CHARITY Two Hundred dollars and if there is any more money after paying Amanda & Vicey then Pay whatever amount to Polly so as not to pay more than Two hundred dollars and the Executor is not to pay until they get the money out of my Estate & Elizabeths part is not due until my Executor has time & opportunity to make the money off of the farm – after the death of my wife the land she chooses will go to the Boys as I have given it to them. & the Personal Estate that She may have is to be Equally divided between Thomas & Anderson & Adron & Moses & Orrison & Elizabeth & Charity

    And lastly I hereby constitute and appoint my friends Asa H Runion & L T Lowe Executors of this my last will and Testament hereby revoking all other or former Wills or Testaments by me heretofore made in Writings where as I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 26th day of May 1857 Adron Runyon
