Mihi and Graham ( Neil) were not married. I knew Mihi well since she lived not far from adoptive parents. Neil/ Graham I never met. The people I called Mum and Dad were Te Aroha T. McDowall, nee Wharemate ( 1927-2012) and (Basil) John McDowall ( 1927 - 2007 ). Mum was from Tautoro, Northland, NZ and Dad was from Gore, Southland, NZ. Both had been previously married and dad had a son, Trevor, to his first marriage. Mum and Dad had a son, Dean Grant McDowell, b 1 May 1965, passed 2 May 1965. Dean was interned in Sala Street, Rotorua, NZ.
