The biography for Linda Rusbridge is empty. What can you add?
I was born in Warrington, the middleof three sisters. Betty (now deceased) was born on 25 July 1946, and Susan was born in May 1950. Mum was Beatrice Risley and dad, Maurice Cecil Rusbridge. Mum was chronically ill for almost all of my life and dies aged 48. My sisters and I had a difficult childhood and were in and out of children's homes. I passed the 11+ exam and went to Oakwood Tech.
I was first married to Paul Edward Stobirski, an engineer I met at work (Warrington Telephone Exchange) where I was a telephonist. Soon after marriage in 1968 we moved to Edinburgh where our first son (Ian Morris) was born in 1971. Our second son, Andrew Paul, was born in Stoke-on-Trent in 1973. We moved round several times with my husband's job, eventually returning to Warrington around 1986. I had gained a degree in Geography as a mature student at North Staffs Polytechnic some years earlier. I eventually returned to work full time, eventually being sponsored by my employer (Cheshire CC) to qualify as a Social Worker at Salford University. I worked for them until I retired aged 60.
I divorced my first husaban when I was 50, and remarried at 63 to Edward Neil Riley (also from Warrington). We now live in Colchester, Essex, near to my older son and his family. My youngest son lives in Manchester.
Betty (now deceased) was married to Patrick Murphy and had two children: Kevin and Jennifer. Jennifer is single. Kevin married and has at least one daughter. Betty remained in Warrington until her death aged 54. Susan married Clifford Webb (from Knowsley, Liverpool) and lives with him now in Australia after spending decades in South Africa. She had two children (Timothy, now deceased) and Taryn, married to Craig Edge. They have two daughters and live near Sue and her husband.
Mum's siblings include Doris (later Bebbington), Thomas Risley, and Elsie (later Heesom). They all lived and died in Warrington and I met them and their families many times.
I know almost nothing about dad's siblings other than what he told me. His parents were Richard and Annie (nee Hobbs). His siblings include Violet, Joan (known as Lucy), and others (who I can't recall). Richard died in 1915 and Annie remarried to Charlie Stanyard. She was to have more children. One was Roger? Dad spent over 30 years in the army (Beds & Herts Regiment) and finished as a Sergeant. He came out of the army when I was born in 1948.
