Biography

Volga German
Maria (Rusch) Schultheis was a Volga German.
Maria (Rusch) Schultheis has German Roots.

Family #93 in the 1798 Grimm census.

Family #147 in the 1834 Grimm census.

Her age in the 1834 census was probably a typo and should be 46, not 56. Her husband was born in 1780 and she was born in 1789 and there was a nine year age difference between them. This mean she would have been 45 or 46 in 1834, depending on her birth month. It does not appear that she is a different person or a second wife. None of the children are listed as belonging to her husband's first wife, which is typical when he has had more than one wife and children with both. She would have been 16 when she gave birth to her first child, a younge age but not unusual for Volga Germans during this time period. This is probably a census taker error.
