Some researchers had thought that she was actually Martha Conklin. Martha Conklin and her brother were living in Benjamin's father's household for a period of time. Not sure the relation to them. She was much younger than Benjamin. Other researchers have this Martha as Martha Rushing, which makes more sense with age. According to 1880 census she was born about 1843, which makes Martha Conklin at the right age. This profile is still under much research, but I have changed her last name at birth to Rushing, unless I find evidence otherwise.
According to the Louisiana Death Index for her daughter, Nannie (Nancy) Albritton Stringer, her last name is Rushing See the attached source below Comment by: C Albritton
Fact: Residence (1880) Beat 1, Lincoln, Mississippi, United States

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Martha by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Martha:
I believe Martha was still living in 1910. She is listed on the Census with her youngest son Robert in 1900 and then in his household in 1910. I believe she died on August 26, 1917.
