Biography

William was born in Jan 1848 in Kentucky. His father was born in New York; his mother in Kentucky.

In 1869,^[1] William married Martha Jane Asbury.^[2]

In 1900, he and his family were living and farming in Wayne County, West Virginia. They had a busy household of seven children, the oldest six were sons who were likely instrumental in the success of the farm, which the family owned free of a mortgage. William was also educated and could read and write.^[1]

William H. RUSSELL was born about January 1848 in Floyd County, Kentucky and died on 17 July 1925 in Wayne County, West Virginia of Paralysis at the age of 77 Years.^[3] He was the son of Ira RUSSELL and Tamsey [unknown maiden name].

He was a farmer by occupation.
