Biography

Jesse was born in 1867 in Oshkosh, Winnebago Co., Wisconsin, USA. He was the son of George Russell and Susan French.^[1]

On June 2, 1880 (age 13) he was living in Colorado with relatives at a boarding house run by his widowed mother.^[2]

In 1883 (age 16) he arrived in Washington State from Denver, Colorado, and became a Master Mason.^[3]

On the 1885 territorial census of Seattle, King County, Washington, he living with his mother, sister, and stepfather.^[4]

On May 17, 1890, he married Ada "Addie" Eagan in Pierce County, Washington, USA^[5] Their children are

In April, 1900 (age 33) he was a fire department captain, living with his wife, their two children, and his stepfather, Joseph Close^[6]

On the 23 Apr 1910 census of Seattle, King, Washington, he was a hotel proprietor, living with his wife, their daughter Jessie, and his mother-in-law Kate A. Eagan.^[7]

In January 1920, he and his wife Addie were living in and running the Busch Hotel in Seattle, King County, Washington, USA^[8]

He passed away in Apr 1, 1949, Naselle, Wahkiakum Co. Washington, USA and is buried in Tacoma Cemetery, Pierce, Co., WA, USA.^[3]
