Research Notes
Isabella's birth was before the institution of statutory civil registrations in Scotland in 1855. Consequently, it is necessary to rely on church baptismal records. Presuming the correct place of birth and name spelling, a search of Scottish Church registers - Old Parish Registers Births and baptisms finds only three possibly relevant baptisms in the Parish of Elgin around the 1830's which could possibly be her:
RUSSELL, ISABEL, to parents ALEXANDER RUSSELL/MARGARET CLARK, F, baptised 06/10/1833, Parish No. 135/, Ref. 70 233
RUSSELL, ISABEL, to parents JOHN RUSSELL/ISABEL HENRY, F, baptised 02/04/1837, Parish No. 135/, Ref. 70 305
RUSSELL, ISABELLA, to parents JAMES RUSSELL/JANET WATSON, F, baptised 15/05/1840, Parish No. 135/, Ref. 70 372
Update 12/1/2022 - based on her death details, her parents are Alexander Russell & Margaret Clark
Her 2 son's had their surnames spelt Matthew, not Matthews on their birth registrations
