Alice Russell was born in October 1860 in New Hampshire. She was the daughter of Edwin Russell and Abigail Marden.
In 1870, she lived with her parents and younger siblings in Elkhart, Elkhart, Indiana. Her father was a Baptist minister. [1] They lived in White Pigeon, St. Joseph, Michigan in 1880. [2] Alice lived with her parents and siblings in Ord Valley, Nebraska in 1885. Her father continued to be a clergyman; Alice was a teacher. [3]
Alice married William B. Howard in 1891. In 1900, they resided in West Omaha, Douglas, Nebraska and were the parents of three daughters - Margaret, Gail, and Wilma. [4] A fourth child, William B. Howard, Jr. was born in 1905. Her husband was in the life insurance business. [5]
