DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with Tyrol or other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Tyrol:

Hi Tyrol,

Oh no! Did you miss the Wales Project Semi-Annual Check-In posted below? Did I miss your response?

I hope all is well with you.

Please take a minute to post a reply to confirm you are still interested in the project and wish to remain an active member.

Let us know about your contributions during the last 6 months.

No response within the next 2 weeks will result in the removal of your Wales Project Badge.

You would be welcome to rejoin the project in the future. At such time, review the Membership Requirements on the Wales Project page and then click on the G2G Welcome Post link.

Hi Tyrol,

Wales Project Semi-Annual Check-In

Thank you for being a member of the Wales Project. You may recall membership requires at least one contribution to project goals during each 6 month period. A contribution includes creation of and modification to Wales related profiles.

Have you been able to contribute?

It is recognized some members are active. Thank you for your work. (There is no viable method to determine which members have been active in the Wales Project.)

Do you desire to stay on your current project team(s)? Which teams are you most active in? Are there other teams you would like to join or become more active in?

Also, do you have any feedback on what the project is doing well and anything we could do better in the future?

Please respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message. I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Stuart Awbrey, Membership Coordinator

Hi Tyrol,

I left a message on your profile a week ago, checking in with you and seeing which team(s) you’d like to join in the Wales Project. I’ve not yet heard back from you, and I hope you are ok. If I don’t hear from you by this time next week, I’ll assume you’ve moved on to other things and will go ahead and remove you from the project for now but you would be most welcome to rejoin at any time.

Best wishes,

Olivia :-)

Hi Tyrol,

Thank you so much for all your contributions to WikiTree in the last few months, and especially to the Wales Project. It’s been wonderful to have you as part of the project as we work together to increase the quality and quantity of Welsh Profiles.

You don’t seem to have selected which team(s) you would like to be on. Please have a look at the project page: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Wales and let me know your choices so I can introduce you to your Team Leader(s). Do you have any questions? What can we do to support you? Do you want to continue in the Wales Project moving forwards?

Please can you also private message me your e-mail so I can add you to the Google group.

I see you’re not currently on the Discord server. You’d be very welcome to join us where we have live text and voice conversations which really helps with collaboration. Just let me know and I can send you an invitation.

I look forward to hearing back from you with all the above.

Thanks once again,

Olivia, Project Coordinator for Wales :-)

Hi Olivia, sorry for the delay, just busy with life! I don't expect to have much free time for this in the near future but would be happy to still be included. I'll send you my email for invites to discord and google.

Hey Tyrol,

Thank you for joining us! I wanted to check in with you to see how things are going. How do you like WikiTree so far? Have the tips in the New Member How To Pages been helpful or have they left you with questions? How are you getting along finding sources for your profiles? The England project has a very nice training program to teach you how to find and cite primary sources. I see you are already a member of the Wales project, are you enjoying the cooperation?

Please let me know if you have any questions about WikiTree. To contact me, log in to WikiTree and go to your profile. Use the ‘Reply’ link below my comment to be sure that I will be notified. You can also click my name to send a private message, or post a comment on my profile page. It's really is great to have you on board.

P.S. To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.

Hi Tyrol, and thank you for upgrading, 😊

I am very pleased to welcome you to the WikiTree family, your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together.

It is best to start with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.

I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.

Thank you for adding your DNA to WikiTree. Getting the Best from DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

One of our mentors created a tutorial for the GEDCOMpare process that others found very helpful. I hope that you will too.

Happy tree climbing
