Laurence Roy Rutledge was born on 31 May 1911 ^[1] in Warwick, Queensland, Australia as the twelfth child of James Henry Rutledge and Ellen Turner. He had thirteen siblings, namely: James Henry, Harriet Ann, Rose Ellen, Maud, Bridget Elizabeth (Bridie), Pearl May, William Norman, Kathleen Cecilia, Phyllis Jane, Thomas Edwin, Herbert Clarence, Ernest John, and Alice Levena. He died on 25 Sep 1964^[2] in Maryborough, Queensland, Australia. When he was 33, he married Olive Louisa Jacobsen, daughter of Robert John Jacobsen and Lily Louisa Knight, on 17 Feb 1945^[3] in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia..
