Johann Peter Rutt was born 26 Nov 1885 in Kolb, Saratov, Russia to Jacob Rutt and Katharina Elisabeth Manz[1] (Maintz).
He and his family immigrated to America in 1899 bound for Lincoln, Nebraska to his mother's brother. They departed Bremen on 16 May 1899 via S.S. Trave arriving at Ellis Island, New York on 25 May 1899.[2]
