Edward Ryan was born about 1834-1840, at New South Wales, Australia. He was the son of John Ryan and Elizabeth Pennell.

"QUEENSLAND." The Brisbane Courier (Qld. : 1864 - 1933) 2 March 1901
Last night, after a long and painful illness, Alderman Edward Ryan passed away at the local hospital. Deceased was also a very old resident of the district, and for the last twenty years had been a member of the Municipal Council. He was Mayor from 1891 to 1901, and also in 1908.
He was also for twenty years a member of the Hospital Committee, and was a member of the Jockey Club and other local institutions. The deceased was in his sixty-seventh year.

IN THE SUPREME COURT OF QUEENSLAND.
In the WILL of EDWARD RYAN, late of Dalby, in the State of Queensland, Licensed Victualler, deceased. Notice is hereby given that, after the expiration of fourteen days from the date of the publication hereof, application will be made to this Honourable Court that PROBATE of the WILL of the abovenamed Edward Ryan, deceased, may be GRANTED to MARY ANN RYAN, of Dalby, Spinster, and CLARA DINNEEN, wife of William Dinneen, of the same place, Saddler, the Executrices named in the said Will. Any person interested who desires to object to the application, or to be heard upon it, may file a Caveat in the Registry, at any time before the Grant is made. Dated this fourteenth day of March, 1901.
