Biography

William Ashfordby Ryerson was born on September 26, 1755, in New Jersey to Col. Martin Ryerson and Catherine Coxe. He married Elizabeth HULL on October 3, 1782. They had one child during their marriage. He died on April 18, 1833, in his hometown, having lived a long life of 77 years, and was buried in Frankford, New Jersey.

In 1770, he removed from Hunterdon to Sussex Co., with his widowed mother and brothers, and settled at Frankford, near Myrtle Grove, where he accumulated a handsome property for those days.
