Michael Rynard and his brother William Rynard both born in Limerick, Ireland came to this country when 18 and 17 yrs of age. They came over on the Martin Luther sailing from Liverpool and when three days our ran into a severe storm, which dismantled the vessel and three of her crew were drowned. She was towed into Plymouth and it was six weeks later that they resumed their journey to Canada which took another seven weeks before they landed at Quebec. On the same vessel was the late John Palmer of Uxbridge and it was not for 55 years that Mr. Rynard or Mr. Palmer knew that they lived as close to each other as they did.
The Rynard boys settled in Brock twp. where Michael worked at his first job with his Uncle Arnold Brethour (his mother's brother) of Vallentyne.
The parents Philip Rynard and his wife Elizabeth Brethour (dau of Michael) followed their sons to Canada later.
