Johann was born in Feb or Mar 1720. He was the son of Johannes Rümmelin, a shoemaker in Untertürkheim, and his wife Elisabeth[1]. On 5 Jun 1742, he married Anna Margaretha Majer, daughter of the late Caspar Majer, baker and member of the judicial court ("Gerichtsverwandter")[2]. There was one child from this marriage, Rosina Elisabetha Rümmelin, born 19 Feb 1743[3]. His first wife died on 6 Apr 1744[4].
In late 1744 Johann married Maria Catharina Gaßmann[5]. The wedding date is not recorded, but banns were read on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd Sunday after Trinity Sunday, which corresponds to 25 Oct 1744, 1 Nov 1744 and 8 Nov 1744. There were eight children from this marriage:
Catharina died on 25 Nov 1759[18]. On 29 Apr 1760 Johann married again. His third wife was Maria Elisabetha Tübinger, daughter of the late Johann Georg Tübinger, a wine grower in Untertürkheim[19]. Johann had five more children from this marriage:
The death record of Elisabetha[27] identifiers her as Johann's widow, so he must have died some time between 1767 and 1790. A death or burial record has not been located, however.
