Biography

Rebecca S. Elsemore was born in that part of Machias, Maine, set off in 1826 as East Machias, 10 Feb 1824, the daughter of Samuel Elsemore and Mary D. Chaloner; ^[1] died at East Machias, 23 Feb 1886, and is buried there in the Jacksonville Cemetery. ^{[2] [3]}

She married, about 1848 (daughter, Olive, age 1 in the 1850 Census), Gilbert William Gooch.
