Biography

My mother started doing genealogy when I was in middle school. It was quite a bit harder to do back then than it is now. I have found and been in touch with numerous cousins. I have yet to find my grandfather's biological parents. John Falkner/Stewart was born about 1874. He was listed on the 1880 census as John Falkner. By 1900 he was married and had 3 children; he was listed as John Stewart then. My mom's family is from Arkansas and my dad's from Canada. I've researched Shields, can't get beyond a small family in Quebec, Beckwith, Stewart/Falkner, Williams, Taylor (both sides, paternal & maternal), Morris, Lindsey, Lewis (again, both sides).

My great-grandfather, John W. Stewart/John Falkner http://www.deadfred.com/photos/12214.jpg

Hey Lisa,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards .

If you need to describe an event, heirloom or a location relevant to your research, try Free Space Profiles .

If you run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving these unfortunate situations.

A project of note is the Global Family Reunion check it out at Global Family Reunion.

Questions? Ask via my profile page. Mags

Hi Lisa,

You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one Profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree.

If you need help getting started, check out the Help section from the Menu, top right.

Head over to the G2G forum. and take a minute to introduce yourself in the Tree House. You might also want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.

If you are experiencing a specific problem, you can reach out to our Mentor Team They are a very friendly group of people

Welcome, and Good Luck!

You clicked on the volunteer button indicating that you would like to collaborate and add family information. If that’s correct please leave another comment here on your profile to indicate your willingness to help build the “Tree”, and one of the Greeters will be happy to add you as a member of WikiTree.

If you just want to explore and search for relatives or family information you can do that as a guest without volunteering.

To help you with your search, check out the “Find” button. Clicking the “Matches for family”or the “Surnames” buttons may show you the way to some family info or connections.

In the “Help” area you can post questions in the G2G forum. We have a lot of people who are willing to help. Just ask. Good Luck.

Thanks for stopping by our site. We're growing a worldwide collaborative tree with new growth everyday.

The Honor Code is a very important part of our community. It's what helps keep our community friendly and productive. Whoever said "seek and ye shall find" was NOT a genealogist!

Hi, I'm Lisa. I've been working on my family tree for 26 years. I've enjoyed helping others do the same.
