My mother started doing genealogy when I was in middle school. It was quite a bit harder to do back then than it is now. I have found and been in touch with numerous cousins. I have yet to find my grandfather's biological parents. John Falkner/Stewart was born about 1874. He was listed on the 1880 census as John Falkner. By 1900 he was married and had 3 children; he was listed as John Stewart then. My mom's family is from Arkansas and my dad's from Canada. I've researched Shields, can't get beyond a small family in Quebec, Beckwith, Stewart/Falkner, Williams, Taylor (both sides, paternal & maternal), Morris, Lindsey, Lewis (again, both sides).

Whoever said "seek and ye shall find" was NOT a genealogist!
