- Elijah was born in 1818, the son of Jeremiah and Mary (Shepherd) Sabean[1]
- He married Ruth Bagley in 1846, and had 8 children:
- John b 1847
- Mary b 1848-1868
- Catherine b 1851
- Ana b 1853
- Martha (Mattie) Sabean b 1856, who married George Henry Tenny 24 March 1886
Ipswich, Essex, Massachusetts and had 2 children (Walter Ellis b 1886 and Caroline Crane b 1889)
- Lucretia, b 1859
- Clara b 1864, who married John Credford 1892 in Ipswich, Essex, Massachusetts and had a son named John b 1886
- Daniel b 1867-1938
- He died in 1868 in Dock Cove, NS[2]
