Jean Sabourin was born around 1641 in Montalembert, (today in Deux-Sèvres, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, coeur du Poitou[1]), Poitou, France to Jean Sabourin and Antoinette Pinaud.
Jean Sabourin first appears in the colony in a judgement from the sovereign council (conseil souverain), (his wife gets listed as Catherine Arnaud in this transcription, similar sounding name to Mathurine Renaud in many points, Arnaud and Renaud often confused), where they had to pay reparation and damages to Anne Giraud and her husband Mathurin Gauthier:
Jugement condamnant Jean Sabourin et Catherine Arnault, sa femme à faire médicamenter Anne Giraud, femme de Mathurin Gauthier, en payant deux minots de blé en dommages et intérêts et 3 livres d'amende applicable à l'Hôpital de Québec . - 16 février 1670
Jean Sabourin is widower of Marie Martinet when he marries Mathurine Renau in 1665, not other data known about this marriage.
Jean Sabourin married Mathurine Renaut on April 29, 1665, at Ste-Marguerite, La Rochelle, France. [3]
Known children from this marriage:

(contract) Mariage de Jean Sabourin et Marie Gaillard (27 septembre 1684). Vol II pg 70 Notaire Paul Vachon[7] (the contract appears to have been done after the wedding)
Jean Sabourin, widower of Mathurine Renau, remarried on 22 Sept 1682 in Beauport to Marie Gaillard, widow of Jean Baptiste Perrier[8], his origin cited on this record as : PAROISSE DE MONTE-LAMBERT, EVECHE D'ANGOULEME
no issue from this marriage.[5]
It would appear they might have separated, uncertain without seeing original contract as délaissement means abandonment or forsaking.
Délaissement entre Jean Sabourin et Marie Gaillard (25 septembre 1690). Vol V pg 130 Notaire Antoine Adhémar[7]
Jean Sabourin was buried on September 28th, 1721 in Pointe-Claire, Canada, being listed as Jean Baptiste Sabouren (sic)[9], in the presence of Jean Baune dit Duamel and Paran, none of whom could sign.
Note: Nosorigines has various data in regards to research done on the family, they state it needs to be verified.
