Sophie Hedwig Sachsen-Lauenburg was a member of the aristocracy in Europe.

Biography

Sophie (or Sofie) Hedwig was born 24 May 1601 at Lauenburg, the eighteenth child of Franz II, Herzog (Duke) von Sachsen-Lauenburg, and the thirteenth child with his second wife, Maria, Herzogin von Braunschweig-Lauenburg.^[1]

She married on 23 May 1624 at Neuhaus an der Elbe, Philipp, Herzog von Schleswig-Holstein-Glücksburg.^[1]

They had issue 13 or 14 children;

Sophie Hedwig, died 21 February 1660 at Glücksburg,^[1] and is buried in the Glücksburg Schlosskirche Gruft (Crypt).^[2]
