Biography
George was born in 1886, the son William Saffin and Mary Ann Jordan. [1]
At the time of the England and Wales Census, 1891, George, aged 5, lived with his family at Cheriton Cross, Devon. The family members were:
William Saffin, Head, M, age 35, born in Devonshire, England; Mary D Saffin, Wife, F, age 32, born in Devonshire, England; Walter W Saffin, Son, M, age 12, born in Devonshire, England; Earnest G Saffin, Son, M, age 10, born in Devonshire, England; Maud M Saffin, Daughter, F, age 7, born in Devonshire, England; George Saffin, Son, M, age 5, born in Devonshire, England; Agnes G Saffin, Daughter, F, age 3, born in Cheriton Bishop, Devonshire, England; Fred Saffin; Son, M, age 1, born in Devonshire, England. In October 1908, at the age of 21, George arrived in Victoria aboard the Ortona.[3]
In 1911, George Saffin married Catherine Annett.[4]
He passed away in 1926, aged 39.[5]
