1695 Sarah (6) Savage (Sarah (5), Sarah (4), Edward (3), Gershom (2), Peter (1)), baptized at Middletown (Cromwell), Conn., 6 June 1773, died at Middletown, 29 Sept. 1837; married at Middletown (Cromwell), 17 Feb. 1794, (Col.) Josiah Sage, born 1772, died at Middletown, 14 Sept. 1839.

6565 i. Sarah (7), b. 13 Sept. 1795; d. at East Orange, N. J., 11 Oct. 1882; m. 22 Sept., 1819, (Rev.) Pieirpont Brockett, b. at North Haven, Conn., 30 Oct. 1787, d. 7 Apr. 1868.☨ Mr. Brockett served as Ensign and Lieut. in the War of 1812 under Commander Abraham Hubbard. He studied theology, and was ordained in 1819, becoming pastor of the Baptist Church in Canton, Conn. In 1822 he became State Missionary for Conn., but returned to the pastoral field, serving several Conn. churches; from 1849 to 1862 he was pastor at Wethersfield, and was Chaplain of State Prison, 1854-57. During a ministry of forty-one years, he preached more than 6300 sermons. He possessed a warm heart and sympathetic nature, and was greatly loved.

☨ Children were Linus-Pierpont Brockett, M. D., author of fifty volumes and a large contributor to several encyclopedias; and Edward-Judson Brockett, of Brooklyn, N. Y., and East Orange, N. J., an officer of the firm of Battelle & Renwick, manufacturers and importers, and publisher of the Brockett Genealogy.
