All the children were in school except for the baby, Laura. All were born in Ohio, except for Alvin, who was born in New York. Note: on the same page of this Census, a near neighbor to the Alvin Sage family was the family of Charles H. Sage, 42, born in New York, his wife Sarah and their two daughters, Ellen, 10, and Ada, 5.
